Growth of Existing Services

Many of IDH's practices have the capacity to provide further NHS services, through the use of spare or unutilised surgeries, or where dentists are not working to their maximum capacity.

In these instances IDH would be happy to work with its PCT and LHB partners to put this unexploited resource to better use - providing enhanced NHS services to local populations.

Addressing Health Inequalities

For PCTs and LHBs with under-commissioned dental activity (UDAs or UOAs), IDH can help to increase dental access locally and can target specific and hard-to-reach groups, such as Mothers and Young Children, Black and Minority Ethnic Communities (BME) or those who have difficulty accessing health services in general.
